Raspberry Brown Sugar Gratin

  • Author: Meagan

Description

Smitten Kitchen has your back for those moments when you really want a dessert-y treat but you really have no time (or energy!).  Five minutes! even less if your berries are clean!  Super similar to Deanna’s Raspberries (from the Joy of Cooking), we chose to use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or crème fraîche – enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

2 c. fresh raspberries (or your choice of berry)

2 c. full-fat Greek yogurt (or sour cream or crème fraîche)

1/2 c. dark brown sugar (or more to taste, the original asks for 1 cup)

Instructions

Preheat the broiler and gently fold together the berries and yogurt in a shallow, oven-proof dish.  Sprinkle on the sugar as evenly as possible, using your fingers to keep it nice and even and then broil for a couple of minutes until the sugar topping just starts to caramelize.  Eat immediately!
