Quick Buttermilk Dressing
Description
Borrowed from Once Upon a Chef, she calls this a ranch dressing, and to be fair, it’s a lot like the Ranch Dressing that I already have posted. But, I think of this one as ‘quick’ and my other as ‘better with fresh herbs’ – both are super tasty, but a few minutes can sometimes mean everything to getting dinner ready – enjoy!
Ingredients
1/2 c. EACH sour cream AND buttermilk
1/4 c. mayonnaise AND 2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 t. salt AND 1/4 t. pepper
1 1/2 t. dried dill AND 1/4 c. chopped fresh chives (or green onion)
2 t. fresh lemon juice AND a couple of dashes of Tabasco sauce
1 t. sugar – optional – I add depending on what I’m tossing in my salad
Instructions
Whisk together all of the ingredients together well in a small bowl and then taste and adjust for seasonings. Refrigerate until you’re planning on using it, this is definitely tastiest chilled.
Put together your salad as you wish, dress, toss and serve!
