Sassy BBQ Sauce

  • Author: Meagan
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Description

Any barbecue book put together by Weber and Jamie Purviance, is a great barbecue book.  This is borrowed from Weber’s, ‘Way to Grill’, it’s as ‘sassy’ as you wish to make it (via your favorite hot sauce), and it’s really quick to throw together (though definitely do this the day before, better flavor!) – enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

Sassy BBQ Saucemakes about 2 cups

1 c. EACH water AND ketchup

4 T. molasses

2 T. EACH white wine vinegar, Dijon, AND brown sugar

4 t. Worcestershire sauce

1 t. kosher salt

1/2 t. EACH garlic salt AND freshly ground black pepper

1 t. hot sauce (this is the kid’s version, add in as much as you wish to taste)

Instructions

In a medium pot, whisk together all of the ingredients over medium heat.  Bring to a boil while stirring then turn down the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.  Allow it to cool completely before refrigerating, but we all believe that it’s tastiest warm or at the very least, room temperature.
