Turkey Burgers
Description
A shout-out to Kyla (and her family!) for these terrific burgers – super easy, and Kyla lists a lovely variety of toppings as well but we’ll probably always go with sun-dried tomato pesto and goat cheese (same for the girls!). We have to thank Deanna however for the super quick and tasty zucchini side – slice any sized zucchini in half lengthwise, aiming for an even thickness with all of them since they’re going under the broiler. Salt them lightly and let then sit while you prep the rest of your dinner, then dab them off with paper towel, sprinkle on Parmesan or any sharp, hard cheese and broil for a few minutes until the tops are nicely browned (and the zucchini is cooked to your liking) – a terrific summer dinner – enjoy!
Ingredients
Turkey Burgers
1 lb. ground turkey
1 small zucchini, grated (about 1 cup)
1 t. EACH garlic salt and onion salt
1/2 t. + freshly ground pepper
1/2 t. + smoked paprika (or hot paprika, or cayenne)
1 T. fresh sage, finely minced (or any other fresh herb of your choice)
Instructions
Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl – using your hands is necessary! and then shape the mixture into 4 to 6 even sized balls. Preheat the grill to high, and then Brock found it easiest to form the patty out of each meat ball and drop it directly on the grill – the meat mix will be quite moist. Cook a few minutes per side, cutting one open to check as required, and then serve on fresh buns with your favorite toppings.
