This is borrowed from Dinner With Julie, and they’re great with butter, maple syrup and berries – enjoy!
Maple Bran Waffles
3/4 c. EACH whole-wheat flour AND flour
1/2 c. wheat bran (or oat bran)
2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. EACH baking soda AND salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. EACH canola oil AND maple syrup (or honey)
2 eggs AND 1 t. vanilla
In a large bowl, whisk together the 6 dry ingredients. Add the rest of the ingredients and whisk until well blended. Preheat your waffle maker and spray it lightly and then cook the batter according to shape/size/instructions of your waffle maker.
Keep them warm in a 200 oven until all are cooked – we got 3 sets (of 4) from our waffle maker.
