Mezcal Martinez

  • Author: Meagan

Description

So boozy…so so good!  Borrowed from Saveur, it’s highly unlikely that you have all of these ingredients waiting for you in your liquor cabinet, but this could be a great one to try for your next dinner party – enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

For 1 cocktail;

2 oz. Mezcal (we use Peloton de la Muerte)

1/2 oz. Carpano Antica Formula sweet vermouth

1/2 oz. Cynar

1/4 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

orange peel or boozy cherries for garnish

Instructions

Combine the Mezcal, vermouth, Cynar and Luxardo in a stirring glass filled with ice and stir until chilled.  Strain into a coupe and garnish as you wish.  The recipe actually suggests a flaming orange peel – hold a lit match over the cocktail, and squeeze the peel so the oils release through the flame into the glass, then garnish with the orange peel – we went the simple route with cherries, but will definitely have to try!
