data-amount=\"2\">2<\/span>-inch pieces<\/p>\n<p><em>For the topping<\/em> &#8211; 1 T. melted butter <strong>AND<\/strong> ~2 T. turbinado sugar<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t<hr data-tasty-recipes-customization=\"body-color.color\">\n\t\t\t<p id=\"instruction-step-1\">Preheat the oven to 350, butter an 8 x 8 cake pan, line it with parchment so that it has 2 overhanging &#8216;handles&#8217;, and butter the parchment.<\/p>\n<p id=\"instruction-step-2\">In a medium bowl, whisk together the five dry ingredients, and then use your electric mixer to beat together the butter and sugar for a few minutes until fluffy.\u00a0 Add the eggs, one at a time, beating in between and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.\u00a0 Mix in the vanilla and almond extract and then mix in the sour cream.\u00a0 Once everything is in, scrape down the sides of the bowl and then give the mix another good beating for a minute or so.<\/p>\n<p id=\"instruction-step-3\">Scrape the batter into your prepared pan and level off the top.\u00a0 Arrange the rhubarb pieces into 3 uniform rows with a chevron pattern, use a pastry brush to brush all with the melted butter and then generously sprinkle with more turbinado sugar.<\/p>\n<p id=\"instruction-step-4\">Bake for about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out of the center clean.\u00a0 This is a very dense cake so it&#8217;s difficult to tell when it&#8217;s done &#8211; I also like to use my instant thermometer and aim for a 200 degree internal temperature.<\/p>\n<p id=\"instruction-step-5\">Allow the cake to cool completely before using the parchment handles to remove to a plate or cutting board for serving.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t<footer
