(light or dark)<\/p>\n<p><span data-amount=\"1\">1<\/span> egg <strong>AND<\/strong> 1 t. vanilla<\/p>\n<p><span data-amount=\"0.75\">3\/4<\/span> t. baking soda <strong>AND<\/strong> a heaping 1\/4 t. sea salt<\/p>\n<p><span data-amount=\"1\">1<\/span>\u00a0 3\/4 c. flour<\/p>\n<p><span data-amount=\"8\" data-unit=\"oz\">8 oz<\/span>. semi or bittersweet chocolate, chopped into rough id=\"instruction-step-1\">Preheat oven to <strong>360<\/strong> &#8211; yes, 360&#8230;the 10 extra degrees apparently makes for a better cookie (and I&#8217;m not one to argue) &#8211; and line a couple of baking sheets with parchment.<\/p>\n<p id=\"instruction-step-2\">Using your electric mixer, beat together the butter and all sugars for about 5 minutes until the mix is very light and fluffy.\u00a0 Add the egg and vanilla and beat again, then the sea salt and baking soda and beat until combined, then add in the flour and mix on <strong>low<\/strong> until <em>just<\/em> combined.\u00a0 The dough will look a bit crumbly, this is normal.<\/p>\n<p id=\"instruction-step-3\">Use a stiff spatula to fold in the chocolate chunks and then scoop in large tablespoon-sized mounds onto your prepared baking sheets.\u00a0 Press each mound down <em>just a titch<\/em>, then sprinkle each cookie with a few flakes of sea salt.\u00a0 Bake for 11 or 12 minutes until golden on the outside, but still soft in the middle.\u00a0 Allow the baked cookies to rest on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring them to a rack to cool completely.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure these freeze brilliantly, but ours never made it that far&#8230;another benefit to hiding some uncooked dough balls in the freezer!<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\t<div
