Chocolate Chip Cookies (Deanna’s)

  • Author: Meagan
  • Total Time: 12 Minutes

Description

This is direct from Deanna, and this recipe has been made and loved thousands of times.  Cookies always bake and turn out less flat if chilled first, but if necessary a half cup of oatmeal added in (with no chilling) will help – enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

1 c. (227 g) butter, softened

1/2 c. (100 g) sugar AND 1 c. (200 g) brown sugar

2 eggs AND 1 t. vanilla

2 1/2 c. (313 g) flour AND 1 t. baking soda AND 1/2 t. salt

~1 1/2 c. chocolate chips.

Instructions

Using your electric mixer, cream together the butter and both sugars, then add in the eggs and vanilla and beat again.  Scrape down the bowl as needed.  Add in the flour, baking soda and salt and mix at low speed until there’s no risk of flour flying around, then up the speed to medium until there is no trace of flour.  Stir in as many chocolate chips as you wish!

Form into balls and place on a cookie sheet – again, I always use parchment paper – and bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.  Do not overcook!  No one wants a hard chocolate chip cookie!

**For a fun twist add in about 8 slices of crispy, chopped bacon with the chocolate chips – no one will complain!!**
