Sally (Across the Alley) Sauce

  • Author: Meagan

Description

A gift from a fabulous friend…from a fabulous friend (Sally, of course).  Super easy and crazy delicious, it has a Mexican vibe but it’s good on absolutely anything!  Enchiladas, dinner bowls, rice, as a chip dip, and in the photo here, baked fish fingers, also used as a slaw dressing!, and then on crushed tortilla chips – enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

1 packet (28 g) Hidden Valley Ranch Mix (non-buttermilk) – OR – 1 packet (21.3 g) Uncle Dan’s Creamy Ranch

1 c. mayonnaise

1 c. milk (or cream, or a combination)

1 small bunch + fresh cilantro, stems included – cleaned

1 or 2 cloves of garlic, minced

juice of 1 lime – or more to taste – or substitute the equivalent in TRUE lime (always in my pantry now)

1 jalapeno (seeds optional) – taste it and decide for hotness levels – I’ve also used a can (113 mL) of green chilies

Instructions

Add everything to your blender or food processor and pulse until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.  Taste for seasonings, adjust as you wish and then serve or refrigerate until you need it – but it won’t last long!
