Description
Maybe one of the best appetizer ideas ever! And likely why there are so many versions available – I borrowed the idea from many sources, but Eating Well took the lead. I’ve seen these titled ‘Cocktail Sticks’, ‘Italian Antipasto Skewers’ and ‘Caprese Kabobs’ and all variations in between…but the point is that while they may take a bit of time to prep…they’re EASY…and you can use anything and everything – super fun! – enjoy!
Ingredients
long sturdy toothpicks or bamboo skewers will be required – I suggest about 3 per person (but I also laid out bowls of nuts, corn nuts and carrot pickles)
Ideas;
– (turkey) pepperoni or hard salami in pieces/cubes
– thinly sliced (hot) genoa, prosciutto, milano salami – take the time to fold rounds into quarters!
– strong cheese in cubes or rustic pieces – old cheddar, gruyere, swiss, (smoked) gouda, feta, Parmesan
– pepperoncinis, olives, grapes, small grape or cherry tomatoes, firm berries, gherkins, roasted red peppers, cocktail onions, marinated mushrooms
What I did – this time; 2 each of 2 different olives, cheese cubes, folded salami/prosciutto
Instructions
Plan out your skewers, get everything ready and thread each as you would. These are lovely to make ahead if you have room for a covered tray in your fridge!
