Baked Sandwiches

  • Author: Meagan

Description

An idea that we’ve had before but that we all need to remember for a quick and cozy weeknight dinner!  Inspired by Damn Delicious, these were made with Butter Buns from Yum Bakery, deli turkey (but often ham), provolone (but any cheese would work), honey, mustard and mayo – though if I had my way, hot sauce would also make it’s way in.  Do whatever you wish and make double what you feel you’ll need – enjoy!

Ingredients

fluffy beautiful buns or croissants

ham or turkey – deli is easiest but leftovers work wonderfully

Dijon or honey Dijon

green onion, red onion pickles or any other zippy bit with some crunch

mayonnaise

hot sauce

honey or even a titch of runny jam

Instructions

Lay foil, with plenty of overhang, large enough to fully enclose (or just cover) as many sandwiches as you plan to make.  Preheat the oven to 375.

My dream layering on an open bun from bottom to top is as follows;

mayo, green onion, cheese, meat, honey, cheese, meat, hot sauce, cheese meat, mustard

Put together, squish a bit, wrap well and bake for 15 to 30 minutes until the insides are gooey.  So many variations and so perfect for chilly weather!
