Brock’s Mai Tai

Description

Really the only way to enjoy a proper Mai Tai is to forget about the fruit juice, and buy yourself some very good rum (though being steps away from the ocean while being shaded by a palm tree helps as well).  These are a vacation staple for us, 2 kinds of rum are required and after much experimentation and an even longer quest for the proper ingredients in a foreign country, this is Brock’s favorite recipe – enjoy!


Ingredients

Brock’s Mai Tai – makes 1 strong drink!

2 oz. white rum

3/4 oz. EACH orange curaçao, lime juice AND orgeat syrup

1 oz. dark rum


Instructions

Mix all ingredients except the dark rum in a shaker with ice, shake well, and then strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice.  Use a spoon to float the dark rum on top and garnish with a pineapple wedge.
