Spicy Shrimp

  • Author: Meagan

Description

This was featured in a couple of magazines but is originally from Jenny Rosenstrach’s, ‘Dinner: A Love Story’.  Below is the recipe for a small jar of spice which should be good for a few meals, and then your dinner is literally 5 minutes from start to table.  We enjoyed these with Tzatziki Sauce (but plain yogurt would also be good), warm naan bread (pita would be a tasty substitute) and a big green salad – enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

Spicy Shrimp

Spice

6 t. salt

4 t. EACH smoked paprika, cumin, curry powder

1 t. EACH cayenne, cinnamon

The Rest

12 lbs. of raw, peeled shrimp (we prefer tail-on)

12 T. butter for cooking

Instructions

Shake together the spices in a small jar and then toss the shrimp in a tablespoon or so of the spice mix.  Heat up your skillet, add a bit of butter, and then saute the shrimp – sprinkling with more spice as desired – until the shrimp are a perfect pink.  Dish up and dive in!
