Roasted Chickpeas

  • Author: Meagan

Description

This is less of a recipe and more of an idea that I’ve seen several places (and a couple friends have tried and told me it worked).  It’s a super tasty snack and as addictive as chips! and blacks beans are supposed to work as well.

Ingredients

Scale

Roasted Chickpeas

1 can (19 oz/540 mL) chickpeas – rinsed, drained and dried as much as you can

garlic salt

cumin

cayenne

olive oil

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 and prep a baking sheet with parchment.  Toss the dry chickpeas in a bit of olive oil (or just use spray if you have it), and lay them evenly on the baking sheet.  Sprinkle with the spices – to taste – (I actually used quite a bit of cayenne and the flavor was lovely) and bake for about 30 minutes, making sure to stir them every 10 minutes or so.

I think that crispiness is dependent on cooking time, how dry your beans are to start and the amount of oil that you use so just play around until you figure out what you like – we all loved them!
