Otherwise known as fancy ketchup! Not that Brock’s beautiful smoked brisket needs any help, but we love our sauces and this goes well with a lot of favorites. We found it online – enjoy!
Brisket Sauce – makes about 2 cups
2 T. butter
1/4 c. finely diced onion AND 1 clove of garlic, minced
1 c. ketchup
1/4 c. EACH packed brown sugar AND freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 T. EACH Worcestershire sauce AND yellow mustard
Melt the butter in a medium pot then add in the onion and garlic and cook and stir over medium heat until both are softened, but not browned. Add in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil while stirring, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until it all thickens up a bit. Serve it straight away or allow it to cool and refrigerate in a covered container until you need it!
